You can easily export your task lists to a spreadsheet, and from there you can copy/paste to any other document if you need to create an invoice. Check out the video for a quick demo, and read further below for more instructions.
Note that exporting is not available in the LE version of Desktop Task Timer. Click here to upgrade.
Desktop Task Timer exports its tasks in .csv format ("Comma-separated Values"), which are commonly readable by almost any spreadsheet software.
You can export both a single days' worth of tasks, or the tasks for any date range you specify.
To export a single day's worth of tasks, simply choose the 'Export to .csv' option within the 'Task List Functions' toolbar menu option. You'll get to choose a filename and a destination for your new file.
To export tasks from a given date range, first open the calendar by clicking on the date button (see daily timesheets if you need more information). Then, using the calendar, click and drag to select a range of dates. It may be tricky to select dates that occur in different months, but there is a simple technique to make this easier. First, select the date that represents the start of your desired date range. Then locate your desired end date in the calendar. Before clicking on the end date, hold down the shift key. Then click on the end date. This will select the date range between the start and end dates.
From here, you can choose the 'Export to .csv' option within the 'Task List Functions' toolbar menu option. However, when you've selected a date range, you'll notice that the start/stop button changes to say 'Export'. You can use this button as well to export your time sheet data.
